This workshop invites participants to experiment with an array of etching techniques, including multiple state open bite and etched textures. Emphasis is put on relief etching techniques: longer acid bites and deep etches. The expressive character of etched matrices are printed using viscosity methods — superimposition and juxtaposition of color. No previous experience required. Copper plates will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring copper (only copper can be etched).

This class meets in person at MassArt in the Printmaking Studio.
