Catarina Coelho

Catarina Coelho is a mixed-media artist whose drawings and printmaking work explore the subject of landscape as a testimonial site of human interaction with a territory. While her artwork is based in drawing and printmaking, her artistic practice also includes painting and writing. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Catarina Coelho studied painting and printmaking at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and at the Accademia di Belle-Arti di Brera in Milan, Italy. She received an MA in Philosophy of Art from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, and an MFA in printmaking from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Since 2004, Catarina Coelho has been exhibiting her work in Portugal, Spain, and most recently in Boston, MA.
