Austin Kemp

Austin Kemp grew up in rural Tennessee with an avid love of comics and superheroes. A few panels later, their passion for the medium directed their academic pursuits. Austin’s field of research focuses on both the comics form and the transmedial superheroes borne from it. Austin takes any excuse to integrate comics into the classroom with an eye on the form’s interdisciplinary relationship to other artistic fields. When not teaching or researching, Austin feels guilty about not doing so and tries to move on.
