Julia Harrington is an artist, designer, and teacher whose work focuses on incorporating historical and artistic techniques into modern day clothing. She received a BFA in Fashion Design from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2020. She specializes in hand techniques such as embroidery, beading, smocking, fabric painting, and leather work. Much of her work is inspired by her love for historical clothing and sustainability. She also has a love for painting, drawing, printmaking and fiber arts. Her work has been shown in multiple student and staff shows at MassArt. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Fashion Department, and Instructor for Youth Programs at MassArt. She has previously worked at MassArt as the Fashion Department tutor, and Interim Art Education and Saturday Studios Manager. She has worked at Bremelia Custom Bridal, and interned at Primark and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee costume shop.
