Joseph Ray

Joseph Ray grew up in Upstate New York. He is a graduate of Munson Williams Proctor Institute, received his BFA at the State University of Oswego, and his MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. In his own work Joseph’s mediums include oils, inks, watercolor, charcoals, encaustics and graphite. As well as works on traditional canvas, he makes his own paper to be used as a medium in addition to a surface. His work has been shown both locally as well as nationally and currently revolves around truth, fallacy, perception and the psychological interactions between our senses and how they determine our understanding of our surroundings. He currently lives and works out of the Worcester area as an Artist and educator.
