Jean-Sebastien Vachon

Jean-Sebastien Vachon is a Boston-based designer and architect, and an alum of MassArt’s Master of Architecture program (Class of 2023). He blends his art and design education with a strong problem-solving mindset, viewing technical rigor as an essential component of design thinking. Growing up in rural Quebec and later living in dense urban environments such as Toronto and Boston, Jean-Sebastien brings a nuanced respect for vernacular architecture and an awareness of the broader urban and social impacts of buildings.

Currently at Populous, a global design firm focused on sports and entertainment, Jean Sebastien is involved in a variety of project typologies, from large scale masterplan concept to small locker room renovations; Understanding the various scales of design is what excites him the most. Outside of his professional practice, Jean-Sebastien explores furniture design, drawing, and painting, continually engaging new mediums to support a holistic and exploratory design process.
