Heatherjean MacNeil

Heatherjean MacNeil Phd is currently a Visiting Professor in Organizational Behavior at Northeastern University in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business. As a “pracademic” her research and teaching are fueled by her career as both an entrepreneur and intrapreneur across several industries including international development, fashion, education, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion consulting services. As an entrepreneur, she was the Founder and CEO of a mission-driven apparel company, Proxy Apparel, that supported worker-owned cooperatives around the world. She also served as the Co-Founder and Global Director of Babson’s Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab, a venture accelerator that has fostered the growth of hundreds of women-led ventures in Boston and Miami. As an intrapreneur she has significantly supported the growth of a women-owned DEI consulting firm, Orange Grove Consulting. She received her PhD from University of Massachusetts and her dissertation research, focused on new majority founders and the emerging U.S. cannabis market, won a best paper award at the International Diana Research Conference in June of 2022.
