Alex Rheault
Alex Rheault lives in Southern Maine. Rheault combines drawing, writing, book arts, collage, and objects in intuitive ways to explore memento mori, found objects, odd pairings, the domestic, things with wheels, incongruities, contradictions, and nonsense. Rheault teaches 2D, collage, and Forensics of Fashion at the University of New England. She recently presented half of sixty visual works from her hand-stitched books in a collaboration with Maine poet Meghan Sterling at the Belfast Poetry Festival. A book will be forthcoming. Her typewriter drawing for Jefferson Navicky’s recent book is travelling in the Illustration Institute’s exhibit series. She is working on her writings and a new series of watercolor drawings.
