This course provides a foundational understanding of the regulatory codes and legal frameworks that shape the practice of interior design. It explores how different states in the U.S. recognize and regulate the profession, as well as the professional institutions that support interior designers and related fields.

Students will delve into essential topics including business models, contracts, liability management, project oversight, and portfolio development. They will learn to develop a professional portfolio format and create a mock project proposal based on a client scenario provided during the course.

Furthermore, the curriculum covers practical aspects such as time billing, product procurement, and fee structures for various services. This comprehensive approach equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate legal requirements and effectively manage interior design projects in a professional context.
