 In this introduction to lapidary course participants will learn how to transform rough stone into jewelry-ready cabochons. Learn the basics of identifying rocks and develop an understanding of how the mohs hardness scale affects cutting/cabbing an stone work. Students will be carefully shown how to safely operate trim saws, a diamond pacific genie lapidary machine and a cabking lapidary machine. Students are encouraged to bring their own rock treasures. Additional rough will be available for purchase.
