Participants gain fluency in crafting digital files for object-making, from initial design to machine language. Areas of focus include computer-aided design, additive manufacturing techniques, and 3D printing processes. Students learn to translate their ideas into unique objects through the setup and safe operation of 3D rapid prototyping machines.* This course equips students with lasting skills for continuing to design and materialize their ideas with these emerging, affordable and accessible tools and techniques.
*Fully remote students may print at home or provide files for 1-2 designs, to be printed and shipped by MassArt. Local students may opt to attend 1-2 (fully optional) on-campus printing sessions.
