Thinking about a career in graphic design? Do you currently “dabble” in graphic design for personal projects? Have you found yourself designing flyers, webpages, brochures or other graphic design work professionally without any design training? This one-day workshop is specifically targeted for those with no graphic design background, to understand what makes a design “work” visually and as effective communications. Discover the elements and principles of design and how the graphic designer uses them to create visual compositions incorporating text and images to convey a mood or message. How focal point, direction, contrast, repetition, color, and negative space are keys to effective design will be revealed through presentations, critical looking, as a group, discussion, and hands-on design exercises. There will also be time for your questions related to pursuing additional graphic design education and/or a career in the field of graphic design.
Students must have access to a laptop or desktop computer to participate in this workshop.

This class takes place online and meets using Zoom.
