This hands-on course immerses students in the art of creating bespoke elements crucial to interior design projects. From sketch to finished product, students will learn how to transform concepts into detailed, precise measured drawings ready for fabrication.
The studio emphasizes translating sketches into accurate drawings suitable for fabricators, incorporating dimensions, construction tolerances, and desired finishes. Additionally, students will design a basic piece of custom wood hardware and have the opportunity to fabricate it using MassArt’s state-of-the-art digital fabrication lab. No prior software or woodworking experience is necessary—this course provides a supportive environment for exploring and mastering the craft of custom fabrication within interior design.
