Chair Building: From Design to Construction is an immersive hands-on experience that focuses on transforming chair designs into physical pieces. This course is meant to build upon the design acquired in the previous course the “Chair Design: Through Sketching, Modeling, and Full-Size Mock-ups” but if a student wishes to take this course alone they will be provided a standard chair design to build. Students will delve into the process of bringing their chair designs to life, gaining a deep understanding of materials, joinery methods, and woodworking skills. Emphasis will be placed on precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail to create chairs that are not only visually appealing but also structurally sound.
