Erica Lynn Hood

Erica Lynn Hood earned her BFA in ceramics from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2014. With 15 years of experience, she specializes in creating functional and sculptural ceramic pieces that often incorporate mixed media and printmaking techniques. She has been teaching ceramics in New England for over a decade, with previous teaching roles at MassArt, Haystack Open Door, Umbrella Arts Center, and The Clay School. Currently, she is the studio and office manager at Chases Garage Artist Studios, a ^10 reduction firing communal studio located in York, Maine.  Erica resides in Attleboro, Massachusetts, with her husband, Owen Roberts, a fellow MassArt graduate.

Erica is actively involved in various ceramics projects, including custom fabrication, prototyping, wholesale, consulting, and fundraising. Notably, in 2025, she worked as a ceramics fabricator for Laura Lima’s Indistinct Form, a large outdoor public art installation for the Boston Public Art Triennial. Erica also participates in the Empty Bowls Attleboro Area project, a local initiative that raises money for food charities combating hunger. Their team includes talented local potters and friends who work together to produce and glaze over 600 bowls for the event. Each year, Erica makes more than 150 bowls to support the annual fundraising efforts.
