Whether you are a creative-entrepreneur looking to set up a professional product/portrait shoot or an artist wanting to better document your work, start photographing now with what’s available in your house; a lamp in the corner of your bedroom, a fabric draped against the wall  in your basement, or that camera phone in your pocket. This course focuses on how to set-up a photo studio anywhere and use a combination of natural and/or artificial light to achieve professional-looking photographs. Students will be expected to have either a DSLR or camera phone and any space to work in.  Once registered, students should be sure to activate their Net ID (MassArt email and login).  You should receive a temporary password, but if not, be sure to contact Helpdesk@massart.edu.  Your Net ID gives you access to the Creative Cloud software if you don’t have it already.

Topics for Each Session

  1. The camera and its many possibilities. (Basic Camera Techniques) Photo Only
  2. Setting up a space and using light that’s available. (Lighting Workshop)
  3. Workflow?! Editing that works for you. (Editing)
  4. What now? Getting your work out there! (Publishing Work)
