This online course features the following types of interaction:

  • Live meetings

Through an examination of iconic movies, this course will study problems of immigration, race relations, and assimilation of minorities in the American melting pot; among them will be “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” “Crossing Delancey,” and “El Norte.” One film will be viewed in class each week, accompanied by analyses and class discussion. No exams will be given; two term papers will be required.
