Monoprint through the Wires

Monoprint and Monotype are generally considered the most painterly printmaking processes. The beauty of this medium is in its spontaneity and its combination of printmaking, painting and drawing media. During these four sessions we will explore several different monotype techniques, without the use of a press, but with all sorts of things we can make prints with, in our homes! We will explore several techniques including Pochoir, gelli-plate printing, trace monotype, and the use of stencils in multiple and varied ways.
Erin Sweeney lives and works in southern New Hampshire. She received her MFA in Books Arts and Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she was awarded the Elizabeth C.
