 In this introduction to lapidary course participants will learn how to transform rough stone into jewelry-ready cabochons. Learn the basics of identifying rocks and develop an understanding of how the mohs hardness scale affects cutting/cabbing an stone work. Students will be carefully shown how to safely operate trim saws, a diamond pacific genie lapidary machine and a cabking lapidary machine. Students are encouraged to bring their own rock treasures. Additional rough will be available for purchase. 



Early registration is recommended for on-campus classes.  Please check (see link on the upper right corner of the page) for current COVID protocols. Indoor masking and vaccination (and booster if eligible) are required. Please complete this Vaccination Attestation before attempting to go to campus.
