Students apply typographic principles to communication design projects of moderate complexity. They strengthen skills in building typographic relationships and detail, creating sophisticated typographic layouts, including dynamic use of the grid, and employing type use and choice for creating expressive, conceptually based, typographic design. Prerequisites: Foundations of Graphic Design, Typography, and working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Students may take this class for no credit at the 3-credit price, by permission. Prerequisites apply.
Sara Eisenman began her career in New York at Alfred A. Knopf, first as a staff book designer and then art director. She came to Boston as director for Houghton Mifflin’s Trade and Reference list and then was Art Director, and later Creative Director, at Beacon Press.
