An introduction to the basic glassblowing techniques used to make vessels and sculptural forms. Throughout the course, progressively more difficult assignments teach new concepts and develop students’ skills. Group glassblowing clinics encourage teamwork. Historical and contemporary glass techniques, designs, and applications are discussed and incorporated into student work. No previous experience in glassblowing is required.
Early registration is recommended for on-campus classes. Please check massart.edu (see link on the upper right corner of the page) for current COVID protocols. Note that indoor masking and vaccination are required.
