Summer and Fall 2020 continuing education classes are being taught remotely. Studio classes have live remote meetings. Basic requirements to take a class are an internet connection, computer, and an internet linked camera (like a cell phone). Most classes will be hosted through Zoom or MassArt Moonami. For specific course requirements, contact the CE office at ce@massart.edu or your instructor. Fall classes are still being added--check again soon.

Gain knowledge of architecture and related subjects such as exhibition design, furniture design and fabrication, and sustainable design. Employ model making as an analog for the building process.

Students examine building cultures from different periods and places, from pre-history until the dawn of modernity. Emphasis is given to different aspects of the built domain: the symbolic significance, layouts, spatial organization, construction, building materials and technologies, the building site, and city plans within the broader urban and cultural landscapes.
