Summer and Fall 2020 continuing education classes are being taught remotely. Studio classes have live remote meetings. Basic requirements to take a class are an internet connection, computer, and an internet linked camera (like a cell phone). Most classes will be hosted through Zoom or MassArt Moonami. Animation

Through exposure to a variety of techniques and viewpoints, gain the ability to work creatively beyond the conventions of mainstream animation.

Architectural Design

Book Arts

Create handmade books using techniques including accordion fold, concertina spine, pop ups and more. Use over 500 fonts of metal and wood type on the Vandercook Press. Develop personal narratives as you push your technical skill.

Creative Economy/Professional Practice

Address business issues important to practicing artists and designers. Fine art and design are intimately connected with many disciplines and studies. Professional Practice and Creative Economy courses and workshops explore the application of art and design methodologies outside of the studio.

Digital Tools / Web Design

Enhance your design knowledge and technical skills in a variety of computer programs. Find courses and workshops catered towards illustration, photography, fashion, web design and more.

Drawing

Choose from a variety of drawing topics including drawing from observation and abstract approaches. Push the boundaries of the discipline by drawing with a variety of media under the direction of accomplished artists/teachers.

Fashion Design

Push your creativity while building on time-tested principles of design and craft. Fashion courses at MassArt offer an opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of fashion design in one of the oldest and most respected fashion programs in the country.

Film / Video

Study film and video as fine arts, in an environment that emphasizes and supports the development of a personal vision and encourages experimentation across mediums and genres. Take individual courses and workshops, or take a deeper dive with our Summer Film School.
