COURSE DESCRIPTION
A unique opportunity for artists to gain hands-on experience digitally photographing your artwork. In-class exercises and demonstrations on topics will include the principles of photography, camera functionality, lighting techniques, composition, and making the best file ready for print and web. You are encouraged to bring your own digital camera and your portfolio, but neither is required. This course complements Photoshop for Artists.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Clint Baclawski, a Pennsylvania native, currently lives and works in Boston, MA.His work combines a technical photographic practice and a playful relationships between objects, space, and the viewer. His work has been exhibited locally at the Photographic Resource Center, Boston Center for the Arts, and the Griffin Museum of Photography as well as nationally at the Chelsea Art Museum, New York, NY, and the Center for Photography at Woodstock, Woodstock, NY. He is part of the permanent collection at the Whitehead Institute at MIT, and the new residence hall at MassArt. He was recently published in The Collector’s Guide to New Art Photography Vol.2 by the Humble Arts Foundation. He received his MFA from MassArt in 2008 and his BFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2003.
